About the Role
We are currently seeking a highly motivated individual to join our Disability Access team at our Melbourne (Clayton) office commencing in 2024. The successful candidate will be working at the forefront of an emerging discipline alongside a dynamic team of like-minded professionals in a positive, energetic workplace.
Responsibilities Include:
Develop and document engineered design solutions presented in reports
Conduct calculations and model trial designs
Liaise directly with other members of design teams in each project
Research and data sourcing
Analyse and interpret legislation
Interpret design documentation
Developing practical design alternatives that satisfy legislative requirements
Self-management of clients and projects
Undertaking onsite inspections; and
Reviewing design documentation

The Ideal Candidate
Diploma or Advanced Diploma in Building Surveying preferred but not required
Creativity, driven, attention to detail
Positive and proactive mindset
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Strong computer skills (e.g. Microsoft Word, Outlook)
Exceptional time-management skills/experience
High capacity for critical and analytical thinking
Ability to work independently, as well as in a larger team
Holds a current Victorian drivers licence
Technical understanding of the Building Code of Australia
Knowledge of Disability Access Standards and Legislation favourable but training will be provided
Some past relevant experience would be favourable but not essential. All relevant training will be provided.
